Καπνίζοντες άνθρωποι, πλοία αεροπλάνα
Γόπες, καπνός, διοξείδιο του θείου/άνθρακα, κρότο, σκουπίδια 
Ρύπανση πνεύμονος και περιβάλλοντος..

Σαν πως δε σας βλέπουμε
Που θα πάει;;;

Darkness has fallen,
events suffocating us
Pessimism,
irony, hypocrisy

Fumes from humans, ships, planes
Cigarette butts, smoke, sulfur/carbon dioxide, noise, trash
Pollution of lungs and environment..

As if we don’t see it.
Until when???

Who is suffering,
Who is the victim?

Where is savoir-faire??

Sitting in the cube, I was challenged by the lack of spirit, initiative, critical thinking, and expression.  Life was coalescing into a series of movie frames.  The lack of time to sit, reflect, and express – the trifecta – is what inspired me to sit and dedicate my recollection of Life to Life.

PROGENITORS 

Andros, island of skilled furniture artisans. 

 

George Manetas, residing in Kapparia (named for “kappari,” the Greek word for capers).  The homes in the village were built of stone, with wood frames.  The Manetas home overlooked the gorge towards Ormos Korthiou, located at the southeastern part of the island.  Almond trees greeted visitors as they entered the courtyard.  George and his wife, (researching), had ? children, the oldest son named Alexandros.  The family was engaged in furniture making.  By the mid-nineteenth century,  Alexandros Manetas and his wife Maria (nee Desipri, born in Triantaro (on the neighboring ialand of Tinos) had three children: George, Irene, and Despina.  At some point in the 1850s, Alexandros decided to expand the family business in the form of a steam-powered furniture factory in Smyrna, Asia Minor.  Inhabited by a predominantly Greek population engaged in numerous forms of commerce, establishing the pre-eminence of Smyrna as a foremost player in Mediterranean commerce.  Alexandros’ son, George, was to head the venture in Smyrna.
