Native of the Washington metropolitan area, Odysseus is a renaissance traveler, whose background includes music, literature, financial management, soccer (football) refereeing, travel narratives..
He graduated from Montgomery College and George Washington University with degrees in Math-Science, Political Science, and further education in accounting. At the age of six, he began studying the accordion under Louis Coppola and Carmelo Pino (US Accordion Champions in the 1950s). At the age of twenty, Odysseus began performing professionally on the accordion and piano, for a career that spanned over thirty years. He also began writing poetry and short stories in his twenties, drawing inspiration from the culture of daily experience, Hellenism, and Muses of life. He pioneered Evenings of Greek Contemporary Music in the 1980s, and produced and performed in four Concerts of Greek Contemporary Music. He has performed for dignitaries, international events and organizations, including Luciano Pavarotti. In addition to music and travel, his parallel career in politics, constituent services, soccer officiating, and financial management were, and are the backdrop to much of his poetry and literary works.
He divides his time between the United States and Greece…
Apparent in my travels, and daily life, where fellow voyagers extend their help to their synanthrope. Reinforcement of optimism in our human tribe…
I decided that the adventure and experience from travel needed to be shared with my fellow travelers. The blog reflects my impressions and poetic insights as I experienced, being sight/challenged with less than fifteen degrees of peripheral vision in my right eye.
